Description
Simple sugar cookies with festive colours.
Ingredients
| 2 1⁄4 | c | flour |
| 1⁄2 | t | baking powder |
| 1⁄8 | t | salt |
| 1 | c | butter |
| 3⁄4 | c | sugar |
| 1 | egg | |
| 1 | t | vanilla extract |
| 30 | dr | food colouring (red/green) |
Instructions
cream butter + sugar
beat in egg + vanilla
sift in dry ingredients, blending well
divide dough into 3 even portions, mix in food colouring (1 green, 1 red)
form each portion into a rectangle log on wax paper (1' x 2" x 3/4")
stack the logs (green, white, red)
fold the wax paper over and wrap in an extra layer of wax paper
chill for an hour in the fridge
take it out, unwrap
slice into cookies (at least 2 loonies thick -- but all of equal thickness)
bake 10 - 12 mins @ 350 or until bottoms start to turn golden brown
remove from pan immediately
